FAQ
General
Founded in 1997, we are Fenris Creations, a leading independently operated game developer. We have been praised for our artistry, game design, unique player-driven narratives, and close and collaborative relationships with our community of players.
Founded on the principle of pushing the envelope and breaking new ground on all levels, Fenris Creations is dedicated to the development of cutting-edge games.
After being a Pearl Abyss company since 2018, the company returned to independent ownership in May 2026. The new name reflects this change and gives it a clear, distinct identity moving forward. It removes confusion around the CCP acronym and its association with other entities, alighing the brand with how the company now operates.
Our very first published game, the board game Hættuspil (Danger Game), carried the name Fenris on the box. The success of that game helped fund the original development of EVE Online, and returning to the name reflects continuity with the company’s roots rather than reinvention.
The name also connects closely to ideas that have shaped our design philosophy from the beginning. Creating virtual worlds with consequence, risk, renewal, and player agency. In Norse mythology, Fenrir is often associated with destruction, but also with renewal and the beginning of new cycles. That duality resonated strongly with the company’s long-term philosophy and with this moment of transition.
Fenris Creations is intended to reflect both where the company came from and where it is going next.
Fenris Creations is best known for EVE Online, our award-winning sandbox MMO set in the New Eden star cluster. Now in its third decade, EVE is renowned for its scale, complexity, and world record-breaking in-game battles.
Available on mobile, EVE Galaxy Conquest is a sci-fi 4X strategy game set in the EVE Universe, combining exploration, diplomacy, and player-vs-player battles.
We have also produced Dust 514 (PS3 MMOFPS), EVE: Valkyrie (PC/PS4 shooter), Sparc (PC/PSVR sport), and the Gunjack VR series.
In partnership with NetEase, we released mobile MMO EVE Echoes globally in 2020 and in China in 2021.
Several new titles are currently in production and slated for release in the not-too-distant future.
EVE Vanguard is an upcoming extraction-adventure FPS for PC, where players directly impact the biggest war in gaming. Raid crash sites, assault forward bases and seize exotic tech before colossal Nemesis Drones hunt you down.
EVE Frontier is a hardcore Survival MMO set within the EVE Universe. Players and third-party developers will be given the tools to mold their gameplay experience and shape the galaxy of the Frontier. Currently available in Founder Access, EVE Frontier will continue to grow and evolve as it continues its journey to full launch in the future.

The Council of Stellar Management (CSM) is a player advocacy group consisting of 10 members democratically elected by the players, along with two additional members selected by Fenris Creations from those voted into the top 20, to advise and assist us in the continuous development of EVE Online. They are part focus group and part “tribal council”. The CSM brings focused and structured feedback from the community to Fenris Creations and represents their views and interests.
Legal
No. Fenris Creations does not permit the creation or hosting of third party versions of EVE Online or any of our other titles.
So long as any music produced remains within the realms of personal use and is not created for commercial purposes, Fenris Creations has no issues with audio samples from our titles being used to supplement your compositions.
We always enjoy seeing the incredibly creative results that come from the minds of our players. So long as content of this nature does not infringe copyright or breach our EULA, we have no issue with this.
While we have no issue with the creation of fan content such as written stories, videos, music and artwork, consistency in our backstory and universe is incredibly important to us.
Fenris Creations reserves the right to expand our IP to all forms of media, and we want to ensure that any fan-created content is represented as such to maintain the consistency and integrity of our IPs.
So long as the content is created for your personal enjoyment, not for commercial purposes, and is identified as fan-created, we have no issues with allowing the creative juices to flow
While we appreciate the passion and energy that our community has for our titles, we cannot accept unsolicited game, feature, or content ideas for legal reasons.
If you’d like to discuss EVE Online or suggest changes to New Eden, you can do so at our official forums on the EVE Technology and Research Center board.
You can also raise suggestions and discuss changes with the Council of Stellar Management via our official forums on the Council Of Stellar Management board.
So long as these projects are for personal use, are non-commercial and remain within the bounds of our EULA, we have absolutely no problem with our IPs being used for fan art, model making, videos and streaming, along with all manner of other fun.
We value the creativity and ingenuity of our community above all else and love nothing more to harness the love that our players have for our titles.
While we love to see the creative side of our players flourish, we don’t permit the use of our IP, art assets or game content for mods in other games.
We are concerned that this could cause confusion for our community and that they could assume that any such projects are created or supported by Fenris Creations.
While we have no issue with our fans creating merchandise for personal use, making any merchandise for commercial purposes that will generate revenue is prohibited and infringes on our copyright.
You can find a complete offering of official EVE related merchandise over at the EVE Merch Store.
Tours
Absolutely not; studio tours are entirely free of charge. You can learn more about arranging a tour here.
You should contact officetours@ccpgames.com at least two weeks before your preferred date for a tour. We need at least ten working days' notice for security and internal scheduling purposes to ensure that office tours are timetabled correctly.
For security and scheduling reasons, we cannot offer studio visits on a walk-in basis. Typically, visitors aren’t recommended to arrive at our offices without a prior appointment, as we cannot grant unscheduled visitors access to the building beyond our reception area in these cases.
All visitors who venture further into our studio than reception areas must sign a visitor’s non-disclosure agreement (NDA). This is because we may have sensitive information on display on whiteboards and walls around our product development areas.
While you’re more than welcome to take photos of our reception area and games room, photography and all forms of recording are strictly prohibited in our product development areas. Your tour guide will point out any areas in which you can photograph.
If you’d like to arrange an interview with a specific member of Fenris Creations staff, you should always contact media@ccpgames.com to do so. We don’t offer the opportunity for staff interviews during tours of our studios; however, if you see any of our developers around the office that you recognize while you’re visiting, you’re more than welcome to say hi!
